What materials do I use to make my jewellery?

All of my items are hand made using sterling silver, 14k gold fill, 14k rose gold fill, swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls, and a variety of semi-precious gemstones.

What is 14k gold fill or 14k rose gold fill?

Gold filled is an actual layer of gold pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating, as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. It is safe for most people with sensitive skin or allergies. Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold.

What is sterling silver?

Sterling silver is an alloy created when copper is added to pure silver in order to make the resulting compound more durable and less soft. Although sterling silver is more durable than pure silver, the additional metals in the alloy make sterling silver more prone to tarnishing. This happens because the copper, nickel, zinc or other mixtures in sterling silver may react with oxygen and other elements in the air.

Why does my piece look different from the item pictured in the shop?

All pieces are created by hand, so no two items are identical. That’s the beauty of the product! Please allow for slight variances from what is shown in the made to order photos.
